EPIC League Division 1 with $500,000 at Stake Begins Today

The first division of EPIC League, an online event with a $500,000 prize pool, starts later today. Earlier the event was called OMEGA League and was organized in cooperation between Epic Esports Events and WePlay. However, later WePlay abandoned the project and EEE renamed the event to EPIC League.

The tournament’s line-up consists of 10 teams – Team Secret, Alliance, Natus Vincere, OG, Team Liquid, Virtus.pro, Team Nigma and Vikin.gg received direct invites, while mudgolems and Just Error made it through the qualifiers.

The event will begin with a group stage, which will last until December 5th. The stage will feature all teams competing in a single round-robin group with best-of-three series. Each day there will be three matches played. The opening matches are as follows: Virtus.pro vs OG (1:00 PM UK time), Team Liquid vs Natus Vincere (4:00 PM), and mudgolems vs Team Error (7:00 PM). The event will conclude with a playoffs stage, scheduled for December 8th – 13th. Meanwhile, the tournament also has a second division with a similar tournament format and $50,000 on the line – among its participants are Yellow Submarine, Live to Win, Tempo Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Gambit Esports, Winstrike Team, Team Empire, 5men, Nemiga Gaming, and Cyberium.
