Apparently the management of DAMWON Gaming hasn’t heard or doesn’t agree with the proverb “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – just a few weeks after becoming the winners of 2020 World Championship, the team parted ways with its two coaches Lee "Zefa" Jae-min and Yang "Daeny" Dae-in, and instead signed one of the most successful coaches in the League’s history Kim "kkOma" Jeong-gyun. The team’s former coaches joined T1.

34-years-old kKoma is a former StarCraft II and League of Legends player. After hanging his mouse in 2012, he joined T1’s coaching staff in the same year and had spent with the organization the following six years. With his help, the team managed to become the world champions in 2015 and 2016, as well as placed 2nd at 2017 World Championship. Last year he joined Vici Gaming, which he left this September after a rather unsuccessful season as the team placed 9th in the spring split and 11th in the summer split of LPL.

Earlier this month DAMWON Gaming emerged victorious at 2020 World Championship – after placing first in Group B, they outplayed DRX (3-0), G2 Esports (3-1) and Suning (3-1) in the playoffs.
